We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Deputy Clerk. As a Deputy Clerk, you will provide administrative support and assist with various duties within our organization. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in working in a government setting and gaining valuable experience in financial concepts and accounting.
Duties:
- Assist with processing financial transactions and maintaining accurate records
- Perform general ledger accounting tasks, including reconciliations and journal entries
- Prepare financial reports and assist with regulatory reporting requirements
- Utilize accounting software to input and track financial data
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Assist with financial auditing processes, including gathering documentation and conducting internal audits
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of financial concepts and governmental accounting principles
- Proficiency in general ledger accounting
- Experience working with accounting software systems
- Knowledge of public accounting practices is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and decision-making
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
