Roles and Responsibilities
- Monitor product quality and process control across the Composites and Fan Stator Assembly operations.
- Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to the product, process, and quality management system.
- Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process, raw materials, analysis, and the quality system.
- Control further processing or delivery of nonconforming products until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition is corrected.
- Submit and track non-conforming material through MRB.
- Initiate, recommend, and provide solutions through designated channels.
- Lead the investigation of escapes to determine root cause and corrective action.
- Utilize product and process knowledge to identify process and management system improvements opportunities.
- Implement defect detection and avoidance measures.
- Develop a working knowledge of both upstream and downstream processes to improve and contribute to the overall manufacturing process.
- Apply FLIGHT DECK principles to develop product, process, and manufacturing improvements.
- Conduct First Article Inspections/Product Audits to ensure compliance to our QMS.
- Learn/be knowledgeable of GE Aerospace Quality Systems.
- Friday to Sunday, three-day work week. (36 hours)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing).
- Minimum 3 years experience in Production/Quality/Manufacturing
- Must be able to work Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7:00am - 7:00pm (with flexibility as business needs warrant)
Desired Characteristics
- Prior experience in areas of quality control or assurance.
- Experience with polymer matrix composites, ceramic matrix composites, or aerospace engine assembly as plus.
- Knowledge of AS9100 regulatory requirements.
- Ability to apply statistical methods to analysis of engineering problems.
- Ability to comprehend technical documentation.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
