HR and Talent Acquisition Director – Full Time, In-Person in Flower Mound, TX
The Opportunity
Join a fast-growing, entrepreneurial wealth management firm as our HR Director, where you will lead the design and execution of a strategic people agenda that supports our next phase of growth! This is a daily in-person role based in Flower Mound, TX, offering the opportunity to shape the company’s culture, talent strategy, and organizational structure from the inside out.
As the HR Director, you will report directly to the Chief Compliance Officer and play a vital role in aligning HR practices with business goals, compliance standards, and company values. Starting as a sole contributor and growing your own team from the ground up, you will lead HR and talent acquisition while serving as a trusted advisor for all HR-related matters.

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive HR plans that support company growth and long-term objectives.
- Industry Expertise: Apply deep knowledge of HR best practices and compliance within the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) or broader financial services industry, including familiarity with Texas-specific employment regulations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full adherence to Texas employment laws and relevant federal standards, with proven experience managing Department of Labor (DOL) audits and reviews.
- Full-Cycle Talent Acquisition: Lead sourcing, attraction, and screening for all roles, particularly financial planners and operations professionals, to build a high-performing team.
- Candidate Assessment: Conduct first-round interviews to evaluate alignment with company values, skills, and cultural fit.
- Recruiter Partnership Management: Build and maintain relationships with external recruiters and staffing agencies, negotiate agreements, and ensure quality candidate flow.
- Employee Relations and Development: Oversee onboarding, training, performance management, and wellness initiatives that strengthen engagement and retention.
- Conflict Resolution: Manage grievances, investigations, and employee relations matters with professionalism and discretion.
- Data-Driven HR: Use HR analytics and metrics to inform decision-making and improve organizational outcomes.
- Continuous Improvement: Innovate and enhance HR systems and processes to support business scalability and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of HR experience, including 5 years in a senior or director-level role within RIA (highly preferred), wealth management (highly preferred) or financial services sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in Texas employment law and regulatory compliance.
- Proven track record in recruiting and hiring top talent within financial services.
- Experience managing relationships with external recruiting partners and agencies.
- Strong background in employee relations, grievance handling, and organizational program management.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to execute in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
