Job Summary
GDN Welding LLC is seeking a hardworking, dependable Sandblaster / General Laborer to join our team. This position supports the repair, refurbishment, and manufacturing of oilfield equipment. The ideal candidate is comfortable performing physically demanding work in an industrial environment and is committed to working safely while maintaining high-quality standards.
This is a hands-on position involving industrial degreasing, abrasive blasting (sandblasting), material handling, equipment preparation, and general shop labor.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform industrial degreasing and cleaning of oilfield equipment and components.
- Operate sandblasting equipment to prepare steel surfaces for inspection, repair, and painting.
- Load, unload, move, and stage materials using forklifts, cranes, and other equipment (training provided if needed).
- Assist welders, fabricators, and mechanics with general labor tasks.
- Prepare equipment for painting and coating applications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and properly wear required PPE.
- Perform other shop and yard duties as assigned.
Work Environment
This position is primarily performed outdoors in an industrial setting. Employees should expect:
- Working in hot, cold, humid, windy, and other extreme weather conditions.
- Exposure to dust, grease, oil, dirt, noise, and industrial equipment.
- Standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, and lifting throughout the workday.
- Regular lifting of up to 50 pounds, with heavier lifting performed as a team or with equipment.
- Overtime and occasional weekend work as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous sandblasting, industrial painting, construction, manufacturing, or oilfield experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform physically demanding labor throughout the workday.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Valid driver's license is preferred.
- Forklift, overhead crane, or rigging experience is a plus.
