Engineer 2

GDI Services, INC., the leading provider of quality facility management services for manufacturing & industrial, distribution, healthcare, commercial, and educational facilities is in need of an engineer at Fort 211, Detroit.

Experienced preferred but will train the right candidate.

Pay Rate: $36.96 per hour

Hours: 11 AM - 7PM, Monday - Friday

Typical Responsibilities include:

• Operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting HVAC chiller systems

• Inspecting compressors, pumps, cooling towers, valves, and controls

• Checking refrigerant levels, pressures, temperatures, and efficiency

• Performing preventive maintenance

• Diagnosing mechanical/electrical problems

• Working with building automation systems

• Common workplaces:

• Hospitals

• Universities

• Factories

• Data centers

• Large office buildings

• Airports

• Skills usually required:

• Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering / HVAC systems

• Electrical troubleshooting

• Refrigeration principles

• Reading blueprints and technical manuals

• Certifications (depending on location), often including EPA Section 608 Certification for refrigerants in the U.S.

• First class refrigeration
• Third class Boiler License needed
• A strong work ethic
• The ability to work alone or within a team is a must
