Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Pipeline Integrity Engineer to join a dynamic project execution team supporting major asset integrity capital maintenance initiatives in Houston, TX. This is a technical role with broad responsibility for managing and executing projects focused on the safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance of natural gas pipeline infrastructure. The position is offered on a contract basis and is ideal for candidates with extensive project management experience in the energy industry. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to deliver critical pipeline integrity projects.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assume overall accountability for the planning, execution, and successful completion of assigned pipeline integrity projects, including In-Line Inspection (ILI) assessment remediation and cathodic protection system upgrades.
  • Develop and define comprehensive project scope, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and encouragement to project team members, facilitating a collaborative and results-driven environment.
  • Incorporate economic drivers, operational constraints, and environmental considerations into project design and execution strategies.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with established standards, including Project Life Cycle and System Integrity Plan protocols.
  • Develop and implement detailed project plans encompassing land acquisition, permitting, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and risk management.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage all external resources required for successful project delivery, including contractors and subject matter experts.
  • Coordinate and interface with internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, operations personnel, contractors, and regulatory agencies, to resolve issues and maintain project progress.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues effectively to all relevant parties, ensuring transparency and timely resolution of challenges.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required; advanced degree, Professional Engineer (PE) license, or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of professional experience in the energy industry, with at least 4-5 years directly supporting transmission integrity work such as dig remediation or cathodic protection system remediation.
  • Demonstrated project management experience with large diameter pipeline projects, preferably for oil and gas, pipeline, or midstream owner/operator companies.
  • Strong technical knowledge of pipeline integrity, asset management, and regulatory compliance within the energy sector.
  • Proficiency with project management and productivity software, including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, and Visio.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, with a track record of providing constructive feedback and driving team performance.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
  • Must be available to work in Houston, TX as required by project needs.

Pay Range: $60.00 - $66.00 Per hour

Location Requirements: This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
