What are the responsibilities and job description for the System Administrator (6:45am - 7:00pm Sunday - Tuesday) position at GCyber?
This position is 6:45am – 7:00pm Sunday – Tuesday and is located in Kearneysville, WV.
As the System Administrator, you will:
- Manage, maintain, and optimize servers, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and enterprise applications in a 24/7 environment.
- Administer virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and Active Directory/Group Policy to ensure secure, efficient operations.
- Monitor system health and performance using tools like SolarWinds, enforcing security protocols and best practices to protect data.
- Troubleshoot complex server, OS, and application issues while automating routine tasks with PowerShell and Bash scripting.
- Collaborate with internal teams to integrate IT services effectively, supporting shift work to meet continuous operational demands.
- Active DoD Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s Degree with 5-8 years of experience (or commensurate experience.)
- 8570 IAT II certification (i.e., Security , CCNA-Security, CND, CySA , GCSP, GSEC, SSCP)
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in system administration or related roles.
- Proficiency in managing and maintaining Windows and Linux servers, operating systems, and enterprise applications.
- Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and system security best practices
- Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell and Bash
