Converting Line Mechanic / Set-up Operator
GCH is seeking a Converting Line Mechanic/Set-Up Operator to support flexible packaging production operations. The role focuses on machine set-ups, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, safety compliance, and production support in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical set-ups on:
- Auto-wicketers
- Pouch machines
- Complete daily preventive maintenance (PM) schedules.
- Identify and promptly report equipment breakdowns.
- Maintain and enforce safety and sanitation standards.
- Coordinate activities and follow direction from supervisors.
- Review work orders, production schedules, and reports to determine production requirements.
- Support continuous production efficiency and operational goals.
Required Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to use hand tools effectively.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and organizational abilities.
- Leadership capabilities.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices.
- Willingness to work overtime.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with:
- Auto-wicketers
- Pouch machines (Totani)
- Basic electrical experience (helpful but not required).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, squatting, reaching, and pulling.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Support compliance with American Institute of Baking (AIB) standards.
