Position Details:
- Starting Pay: $25/hour (depending on experience) through a staffing agency
- Path to GCC employee: After a successful three-to-six-month probationary period, based on performance, punctuality, and attendance, candidates may be eligible for direct employment with GCC.
- Direct Hire Pay Range: $26 to $31 an hour.
What you will do:
This role works in a cement distribution terminal loading and unloading cement from railcars and trucks to ensure safe, efficient, and cost‑effective delivery to customers. Responsibilities include operating and positioning terminal equipment; monitoring material flow, pressures, and inventory; collecting samples; completing and processing all required paperwork using computer systems; and coordinating with railroads, drivers, customers, sales, and vendors. The role also performs routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of terminal machinery and equipment—including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and welding tasks—operates mobile equipment such as forklifts and track mobiles, supports housekeeping and grounds maintenance, maintains a safe work environment, and promotes quality, continuous improvement, and best practices. Occasional travel to support other terminals may be required.
Experience and abilities you will need:
- 1-year certificate from college or technical
- 3 - 6 years related experience and/or training in the distribution of products and customer relations
- Knowledge of cement and ready-mix operations.
- Track Mobile Training / Safety Training / OSHA Requirements
- Mechanical ability
Work Hours:
There are two shifts, 2:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, you must be able to work either shift.
