What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mining Engineer in Training position at GCC?

Experience & abilities you will need:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Computer skills with knowledge of spreadsheets, and word processing software.
Experience with AutoCAD and/or some mine planning software.
Availability to travel and/or possible relocation where cement plants are based for training purposes and/or to occupy a position at the end of the training period.
What you will do:
Perform technical assignments designed to develop professional working knowledge, requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria that are necessary to fulfill the experience requirement as a professional in the cement operations with programs tailored to the company needs in our different plants and locations.
Responsible for staying updated on state of the art and industry best practices regarding quarry operations and learning about developing practices and technology
Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all environments
Learning about planning, budgeting, scheduling and efficient execution of quarry projects
Assist with facilitation of continuous improvement processes, developing into a continuous improvement leader
Responsible for communicating mining engineering improvement needs within the facility to the quarry manager
Assist with updating the mine plan and projects
Use of key performance indicators to measure, analyze, develop action plans to improve where needed, and focus on raising quarry operating performance in key areas such as availability, mean time between failure, ton per man hour and cost per ton
Act as technical resource learning about major equipment capabilities, process and new technology to improve mining. Sharing this information with other personnel as appropriate
Participate in assignments to support and learn about other departments such us: Laboratory, Maintenance and Production
Able to obtain, or currently has, a commercial drone pilot’s license
Other duties as assigned
