GC Logistics, LLC is proud to serve our clients and communities as a service-disabled veteran-owned small business by providing a wide range of grounds maintenance services including mowing, weed-eating, blowing, edging, debris removal, flower bed maintenance and more.
We are looking for reliable, dedicated, and experienced Groundskeepers to join our weekday, full-time crew. Our teams perform grounds maintenance activities to maintain and improve the landscape of the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. We are committed to ensuring our clients' facilities are well-maintained.
Responsibilities and duties:
- Provide grounds maintenance as required by contract terms.
- Perform grass cutting services using walking or riding mowers (of less than 2000 lbs).
- Trim hedges and edges around walkways, flowerbeds, and wells using hedge trimmers, clippers and edging tools.
- Remove debris and litter to optimize cleanliness of grounds.
- Prune shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth using shears and other handheld tools.
- Spray lawn, shrubs and trees with fertilizer and insecticide as needed.
- Place mulch, pine straw and other similar products in garden and/or flower beds.
- Plant flowers and other similar plants in garden and/or flower beds.
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to clients.
- Communicate effectively with client representatives while answering questions regarding grounds maintenance.
- Exhibit problem-solving ability to deescalate concerns professionally should the need arise.
For your safety, you should be able to lift up to 50 pounds and be familiar with the operation of grounds maintenance equipment such as standing lawnmowers, weed eaters, and more. The ability to withstand inclement weather and work outdoors is essential. Additionally, you must have reliable transportation to ensure the grounds are serviced appropriately.
