Position Overview
The Bookkeeper will play a vital role in maintaining and generating accurate financial records, reconciliation, processing daily transactions, and overseeing financial operations across multiple businesses in our portfolio. The ideal candidate will analyze financial data, identify discrepancies and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency. The successful candidate will ensure financial operations run smoothly while maintaining compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate books and financial records, including AP/AR and general ledger entries for multiple business profiles concurrently
- Process and record daily financial transactions (receipts, payments, purchases) with high attention to detail.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, verifying deposits and other financial accounts regularly.
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing, and supporting annual tax preparation with our external CPA as needed.
- Organize and classify financial documents, ensuring proper scanning and filing procedures.
- Process and manage customer invoices, ensuring timely delivery and follow-up
- Track and deposit incoming payments (checks, credit cards, ACH, etc.)
- Manage vendor relationships, process invoices, and ensure timely payments according to terms
- Implement efficient systems for tracking payables and receivables across multiple businesses
- Generate various financial reports, including monthly statements, audits, cash flow, balance sheets, P&L statements, and ad hoc reports for leadership review.
- Analyze financial data and forecasting to identify discrepancies, trends, or areas for improvement.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or related field.
- Experience: 2-3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Accounting Software: Proficiency with QuickBooks, ERP systems or similar accounting platforms
- Accounting Procedures: Basic knowledge of General Ledger, AP/AR, vendor invoicing, audit/control procedures and reconciliations.
- Excel: Proficiency in excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
- Adaptable and flexible in handling new requirements and unexpected challenges.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy in numerical data
- Confidentiality: Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial information
Nice to Haves
- Experience working with multiple business entities or accounts.
- Experience working in the manufacturing or trade industry is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud-based accounting systems and financial software integration
Pay: $26.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
