SUMMARY:

Works closely with agents to process client applications for our life insurance/annuity products.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process New Business applications using multiple systems and respond to inquiries around pending applications in a prompt fashion.
  • Reviews applications for completeness.
  • Contact agents and applicants to clarify information.
  • Process applications and corresponding paperwork and document and outstanding requirements.
  • Proactively monitor pending cases for receipt of requirements in order to promptly process requests or issue policies.
  • Maintain minimum individual quality and productivity metrics.
  • Provides administrative support related function to the processing team.
  • Process a variety of tasks, high volumes of work, and inbound phone calls in a fastpaced, timesensitive environment.
  • Support other areas within New Business when volume and capacity allow.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain knowledge of New Business, system enhancements, and professional skills.
  • Exhibit professional behavior that reflects being part of the total company team by demonstrating a positive attitude, setting aside distractions and personal bias, and holding self and others accountable for department and company goals.
  • Participates as a fully functioning team member by learning and performing all team processes.
  • Works with supervision and direction through the processing of annuity applications from application entry through mailing.
  • Establish professional working relationships with agents and/or policy holders.
  • Corresponding with clients and agents to inform them of policy status or changes as well as processing and submitting required government forms.
  • Responsible for keeping clients and policy records organized and maintained.
  • Maintaining proper legal status and regulatory requirements for each application processed and completed.
  • Gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.
  • Works under moderate supervision.
  • Properly adheres to company risk management principles:
  • Adhering and supporting GBU’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
  • Understanding and complying with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures; completing all required training; executing and monitoring controls effectively (as applicable); appropriately identifying, assessing, escalating and remediating risks, potential issues and control failures (as applicable); and reporting compliance or regulatory concerns to management.
  • Understanding and conducting oneself in accordance with the Employee Handbook and preserving GBU’s brand and reputation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Typically requires a minimum of one (1) year related experience.
  • Must successfully complete Annuity Concepts training/testing within 12 months of employment.
  • Demonstrated computer skills and decisionmaking skills based in quantitative techniques.
  • Bring efficiency through streamlining systems and processes.
  • Attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Communication skills.
  • Strong data entry skills alpha and numeric.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn proprietary software, such as LifePro.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Preferably, an ideal candidate will also possess:
  • Minimum of one (1) year in insurance industry, preferably in life and annuity division.
  • Holds a state issued license or has a professional designation/certification from LOMA or other institution.
  • Life or annuity sales/service experience.
