Position Summary

The FacilitiesSafety Coordinator will work closely with the current Facilities Maintenance and Safety Manager. This role will provide hands-on support in maintaining facility operations, ensuring workplace safety, and coordinating preventative maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in daily oversight of building, grounds, and equipment maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Performs distribution center tasks as needed, including loading/unloading trucks and safe operation of forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
• Partner with the Facilities Maintenance and Safety Manager to learn and document all existing processes, vendor relationships, and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs with internal teams and outside contractors.
• Monitor and enforce workplace safety programs, including monthly OSHA compliance, safety training, and emergency response preparedness.
• Support the development and maintenance of work orders and project planning.
• Manage inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and safety equipment.
• Respond to facility-related emergencies in a timely and effective manner.
• Provide leadership in identifying and implementing improvements in efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
• Serve as a backup point of contact for vendors, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor and troubleshoot, when applicable, HVAC system
• Monitor inventory supplies for housekeeping and lunchrooms for the North Canton location
• Maintain security and access card system

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements)

• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems, and adapt to changing needs.
• Basic proficiency with computers.
• Highschool Diploma or GED required
• Ability to operate and maintain material handling equipment
• 2 years of experience in facilities, maintenance, or safety coordination required.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Willingness to respond to after-hours facility emergencies when necessary.
