Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Day Porter to join our facilities maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in commercial or residential properties during daytime hours. This role is essential in ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for clients, visitors, and staff. Prior janitorial, custodial, or facilities maintenance experience is highly valued, particularly in commercial cleaning, floor care, or industrial cleaning settings. The Day Porter will perform routine cleaning tasks and minor maintenance duties to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation
- Conduct floor care activities such as buffing, polishing, and carpet cleaning to maintain a professional appearance
- Assist with custodial tasks in both commercial and residential environments as needed
- Support facilities maintenance by identifying minor repairs or safety hazards and reporting them promptly
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas, lobbies, hallways, and entryways to ensure a welcoming atmosphere
- Use cleaning equipment and supplies efficiently while adhering to safety protocols
- Support with light painting or touch-up work in residential or commercial spaces when required
- Ensure all cleaning supplies are stocked and properly stored
Qualifications
- Proven experience in janitorial services, custodial work, or facilities maintenance preferred
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and polishing
- Experience with commercial cleaning or industrial cleaning environments is a plus
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Prior porter or maintenance experience is advantageous but not mandatory
- Reliable work ethic with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
