Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with expertise in psychiatric nursing to join our healthcare team. As a Psychiatric RN, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate and specialized care to individuals with mental health conditions. Your responsibilities will include assessing patients, developing and implementing care plans, administering medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care. Pay is negotiable, based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments to evaluate patients' mental health status.
- Develop individualized care plans based on assessment findings and collaborate with patients in goal-setting.
- Administer psychiatric medications and monitor their effectiveness, side effects, and overall impact on patients' well-being.
- Provide therapeutic interventions and support to individuals and groups, fostering a therapeutic and safe environment.
- Monitor and document patient progress, behavior, and response to treatment.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans.
- Respond to crisis situations and provide immediate interventions as needed.
- Stay informed about advancements in psychiatric nursing and maintain professional development through ongoing education.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid RN license in Louisiana.
- Bachelor's or Associate degree in Nursing.
- Certification in psychiatric nursing (preferred).
- Proven experience in psychiatric nursing.
- Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
