What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Observer (Part-time) position at GBA Team?
Construction Observer Water Environment
Water Environment at GBA is looking for a construction observer to support their water/wastewater/stormwater projects in the Kansas City metro area out of their Lenexa office. This is a part-time field position.
Responsibilities:
- Oversight of construction observation activities throughout the duration of construction projects.
- Daily correspondence with contractors is required in order to maintain daily reports of progress on site and resolve any issues that may occur.
- Complete daily reports of progress on site.
- Review of payment applications, change orders, and as-constructed drawings.
Required Education/Experience:
- High school diploma.
- Experience working in the heavy construction industry preferred.
- Experience working on wastewater treatment plants or pump stations is highly preferred.
- Ability to complete electronic forms on tablets or computers in a timely manner
- 1-2 years of experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word required.
- Excellent oral and written communications. Communication with contractors, GBA staff, and client staff on a daily basis should be expected.
- Must be able to work effectively both on a team and individually.
- Current Drivers License is required for travel to and from field worksites. Travel to additional GBA offices and/or client locations is occasionally required.
- Ability to lift 25 50 lbs. Ability to carry safety equipment to worksites when out in the field.
- Other duties as assigned
Travel:
- Local day travel will be required.
- Some overnight travel may be necessary for this position.
