Were looking for a Traffic Engineer to join our Transportation Group in Chesterfield, MO. This role is essential to leading traffic engineering projects, mentoring junior staff, and supporting regional growth through technical excellence and client engagement.
What Youll Do
As a Traffic Engineer, youll:
- Serve as Project Manager or Lead Designer for DOT, municipal, and private traffic engineering projects.
- Lead the design and analysis of traffic impact studies, corridor studies, signal timing plans, traffic control, and signal systems.
- Supervise and mentor EITs, PEs, and CADD Technicians on traffic-related projects.
- Coordinate with traffic engineers across GBAs Transportation offices to ensure consistency and quality.
- Support business development efforts by marketing traffic engineering services and cross-selling across disciplines.
- Provide QA/QC oversight and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Train and coach staff in traffic engineering principles, software tools, and project delivery.
- Engage with clients to understand needs, present solutions, and build long-term relationships.
What You Bring
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Missouri, Kansas, or Illinois.
- 8 years of experience in traffic engineering design, analysis, and project management.
- Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, SignCAD, Synchro, VISSIM, and other traffic software.
- Strong technical knowledge of traffic engineering principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- PTOE certification or ability to obtain within 2 years.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in both office and field environments.
- Occasional travel may be required for client meetings or site visits.
