JOB SUMMARY: The Applications Analyst will play a critical role in the design, development, testing, documentation and implementation of both new and existing software solutions. An Application Analyst I is expected to perform as a critical team member supporting IT applications often under the direction of a senior analyst or the IT Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Development and Optimization:
- Possess a good foundation in understanding current software functionality, and assists in improvement opportunities
- Investigates, diagnoses, and resolves process or software issues
- Evaluates technical solutions
- Participation in HL7 and/or other interface monitoring and testing
Customer Service and Support:
- Process Helpdesk requests and other day-to-day functions
- Track customer issues, provide communication updates, and ensure timely resolution
- Create and/or assist in training documentation for end users
- Collect and analyze customer feedback to identify areas of improvement and/or success
Project Management:
- Assists Senior Analysts with project deliverables
- Contributes to initial research, implementation, to post implementation review
QUALITY ASSURANCE
- Evaluates and monitors quality data as it relates to the EMR
- Assists with custom reports and data validation to meet customer needs or regulatory requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university preferred, and minimum 3-year experience in a healthcare-related discipline required.
- Experience with statistical analysis, data management, or analytics preferred.
- Thorough understanding of Microsoft Office Products and intermediate PC skills.
- Meditech and HL7 Interface experience preferred but not required.
- SQL database knowledge preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of hospital IT applications includes an understanding of integration with third party vendors.
- Clinical and financial knowledge of hospital/healthcare departmental processes.
- Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate well with non-technical customers.
HOURS:
- Full-time, days;
- Participates in on-call rotation
- Assists in the management of Help Desk calls
