Entry-Level Electric Heater & Controls Estimating Engineer

Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Electric Heater & Controls Estimating Engineer to join our growing team. This position is ideal for recent engineering graduates who are interested in industrial process heating systems, electrical controls, and engineered equipment used in Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Petrochemical, and Industrial Manufacturing industries.
The Estimating Engineer will assist with preparing technical quotations, performing engineering calculations, reviewing customer specifications, and supporting sales and engineering teams with custom electric heater and control panel projects. This role provides hands-on exposure to industrial equipment design, electrical systems, thermal calculations, and project estimating.
Training and mentorship will be provided for candidates with strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Estimating & Technical Support
- Assist in reviewing customer specifications, datasheets, and RFQs.
- Support preparation of quotations for:
- Electric process heaters
- Control panels
- Perform basic engineering calculations including:
- Electrical load calculations using internal sizing program
- Watt density selection
- Pressure drop calculations using internal sizing program
- Heat transfer calculations using internal sizing program
- Assist in developing bills of materials (BOMs) and cost estimates.
- Work with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing and technical information.
- Help prepare technical proposals and quotation packages.
Engineering & Design Support
- Read and interpret:
- P&IDs
- Electrical schematics
- Mechanical drawings
- Customer specifications
- Support engineering and drafting teams during project execution.
- Assist with maintaining engineering documents and project records.
- Participate in internal project review meetings.
Customer & Team Interaction
- Communicate with sales, engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams.
- Support customer inquiries and clarification requests.
- Learn industry standards and customer requirements for industrial equipment applications.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
Preferred Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Basic understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid flow, and/or electrical systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings and engineering documents.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in an industrial engineering environment.
