A Day in the Life:
- Prepare legal documents
- Examine title abstracts to determine ownership of land and property rights
- Analyze title documentation in accordance with applicable title standards to make title insurance insurability/risk determination
- Perform title clearing services and assist with title issue resolution
- Conduct residential closings
- Draft any relevant title law documents as needed under the scope of closing a particular transactional real estate law file
- Assist Escrow and Title team with clearance, underwriting questions and guidelines.
- Resolve escalations for title defects and title curative issues.
- Communicate with Corporate Counsel to ensure correct and current underwriting requirements and guidelines.
- Assist the claims team with title review to determine if errors were made during title examination and curative process.
- Keep current with our products/services, our industry and competitors.
You possess …
- Good standing admission into the Maine Bar Association
- Previous title/real estate experience
- Excellent follow through and organizational skills
