Gateway Rehab Center has a dynamic opportunity for a Counselor Technician in our Greenbriar, Washington, PA location. In this role, you will assure the safety of the therapeutic milieu and respond to crisis situations. This position requires mandatory staffing coverage when necessary to provide a safe treatment environment for residents.
Responsibilities:
- Monitors patient behavior.
- Assist with crisis intervention.
- Transport patients in emergent situations.
- Transports patients to meetings.
- Documents involvement with patients in progress notes.
- Collects urine and completes paperwork for drug screening as necessary.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of 12 step programs and/or addictions preferred.
Basic Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
Preferred Requirements:
- Some college
Additional Requirements:
- A valid driver's license and favorable driving record required.
- Pass PA Criminal History Record Check
- Obtain PA Childline and FBI clearances.
- Pass Drug Screen
- TB Test
Work Conditions:
- Favorable working conditions.
- Required to remain awake and alert while on duty.
- Minimal physical demand.
- Moderate mental demands to respond to patients' simultaneous requests.
