What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Monitor - 2nd Shift position at Gateway Regional School District?
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma Required. College degree, certification, and prior security experience preferred. REPORTS TO: Superintendent or his/her designee.JOB GOAL: To assist in providing a safe/secure building environment at the Gateway Regional School Complex. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The position requires activities that include communicating with all visitors to the building, staff, and students.
Several hours per day will be spent sitting at a desk. May require lifting and moving heavy objects. At times, this position requires the lifting of materials of 20-40 pounds. Frequent walking and climbing of stairs will be necessary.ENVIRONMENTALCONDITION: The Building Security Monitor is required to work indoors.
This individual may be exposed to ultra-violet lights as are found in computers/video monitors and may be exposed to fluorescent lights for extended periods.SALARY: The hourly rate of pay for this position is $22.00 per hour. The hours for this position are 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm. WORK YEAR: School YearPERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Monitors the entrances to the Gateway Regional School complex.2.Greets and welcomes all arriving visitors, ensuring that entry protocols are communicated clearly, firmly, and kindly.3.Ensures that all visitors properly sign in upon entering and sign out prior to leaving the complex.4.Directs all visitors to appropriate locations within the complex.5.Records properly all required data with respect to building visits.6.Reports problems associated with building security and/or visitations to designated administrators and law enforcement officials, as necessary.7.Reports any problems with behavior or activities to designated administrators.8.Ensures all entrances are appropriately secured Gateway Regional School Complex and at Littleville Elementary School.9.Accepts deliveries and communicates to recipients about mail and packages received.10.Completes other duties, coverage, and assignments as designated by the Superintendent or his/her designee.11.Monitors parking lot for appropriate activities.12.Supports school administrators with requests related to student location and reviews security tapes as requested to provide appropriate administrators video footage that is needed.
