Description:
- This position involves taking a high volume of patient calls for a busy private practice with 22 providers
- Based on patient request, you may be scheduling office visits and/or procedures, rescheduling appointments, taking messages for providers and/or instructing patients based on provider direction
- Making outbound calls to schedule procedures and appointments
- Obtaining prior auths / pre certs / referrals for procedures
- Some faxing / scanning / mailing involved
- All work to be completed with accuracy and speed
- Must be familiar with Electronic Medical Records (EMRs)
- All work is done on the computer - must have excellent computer skills and be able to learn new systems quickly
- Base schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm in our Jenkintown office (FIRST 3 MONTHS ARE IN OFFICE FOR TRAINING, AFTER 3-MO TRAINING PERIOD, THIS POSITION IS REMOTE)
- Demonstrates knowledge of medical outpatient systems and procedures, registration systems and/or appointment scheduling functions
- Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills and strong organizational skills
- Responsive and service-oriented
- Balances high attention to detail with an appropriate sense of urgency
- Excellent computer skills, ability to learn new systems quickly
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize and to multitask
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1 year experience in a medical office setting required, GI experience preferred
- Previous public contact, telephone experience, or related clerical functions in a medical outpatient environment required
- Experience scheduling / documenting in EMR required, EPIC preferred
