What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Nurse Practitioner - GI Practice position at Gastroenterology Associates?
We are seeking a motivated and assiduous Nurse Practitioner to join our well-respected and growing GI practice in Macon, GA. The Gastroenterology clinic specializes in adult Gastroenterology and Gastrointestinal endoscopy.
Essential Functions:
- Provides high quality clinical care in office/hospital setting; treats and assesses care plans of patients; assists physician with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.
- Thoroughly examines all medical record documentation accurately and timely.
- Administers medications, arranges for referrals, orders and evaluates results of diagnostic tests, and establishes a presumptive diagnosis.
- Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of patient treatment programs and collaborates with patients, families and healthcare providers in achieving optimal care.
- Instructs patients and family regarding medications and treatment instruction
- Interviews new and established patients to perform history and physical examinations and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention
- Assesses department’s compliance with regulations and corrects deficiencies within a timely manner
- Responsible for completing basic competencies in addition to departmental specific competencies
- Takes initiative, is flexible to change, follows through on commitments, takes personal responsibility and assumes ownership for successfully completing job responsibilities,
Education: Graduate of an accredited Certified Nurse Practitioner Program with a Masters Degree in Nursing
Required Licensure:
- Active, current RN/APRN license within the state of Georgia
- BLS certification
