**What This Role Involves**
- Ownership of controls and electrical systems for Magnet Systems equipment
- PLC/HMI development, integration, and troubleshooting
- Supporting development of a standardized controls and electrical architecture
- Diagnosing problems that may cross controls, electrical, and mechanical boundaries
- Working with customers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve issues
- Supporting both new equipment and existing installed systems
- Travel is required for startup, commissioning, and customer support
**Technical**
- Strong experience with industrial controls (PLC/HMI development and troubleshooting)
- Ability to work across multiple platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or similar)
- Solid understanding of electrical systems (power, circuits, and troubleshooting)
- Ability to read and develop electrical schematics
- Takes full ownership of electrical and controls architecture and drives problems through to resolution with limited day-to-day direction
- Comfortable working in ambiguous situations with incomplete information
- Able to operate independently while coordinating with multiple stakeholders
- Able to represent the company professionally when working with customers and partners
- Willingness to travel and support systems in the field when needed
**Technical**
- Experience with high-current systems, motors, coils, or power electronics
- Exposure to multiple controls platforms beyond a single OEM
- Experience with SCADA platforms (e.g., Ignition)
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols and system integration
- Experience contributing to or leading standardization of controls platforms or electrical architectures
- Background in custom equipment, low-volume manufacturing, or system integration
- Experience working directly with customers or in field service roles
- Exposure to working with external vendors or international partners
- Experience with magnetic systems, heating systems, or other physics-driven equipment
- Familiarity with simulation tools or modeling (electrical, thermal, or similar)
- Prior experience in a role requiring both engineering and field support.
