Position Summary
Gasbarre Products, Inc. is launching a dedicated Magnet Technologies business unit focused on advanced magnetic material processing and magnet alignment press systems. We are seeking a highly motivated, technically capable Start-Up Engineer to help stand up this new business unit.
This role will serve as a technical and programmatic bridge between:
- Gasbarre and our customers
- Gasbarre and key strategic partners
- Engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and service teams
The ideal candidate thrives in early-stage, ambiguous environments, can translate technical requirements into executable plans, and is comfortable owning projects from concept through FAT, SAT, and production launch.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Partner Interface
- Act as the primary technical liaison between Gasbarre, customers, and strategic partners
- Gather, clarify, and document technical requirements, open questions, and design constraints
- Coordinate responses and solutions across Gasbarre engineering, applications, and manufacturing teams
- Support customer meetings, design reviews, and milestone reviews
Program & Project Execution
- Manage active magnet-press projects to ensure alignment with:
- Cost targets
- Delivery timelines
- Technical performance requirements
- Track open items, risks, and mitigation plans across internal and external teams
- Support change management and scope alignment as programs evolve
Start-Up, NPI & Production Support
- Assist in establishing procurement, assembly, and production workflows for magnet press systems
- Support supplier coordination, long-lead procurement, and build readiness
- Prepare and execute FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing) activities
- Support initial installations, commissioning, and handoff to service teams
Business Unit Development
- Help define internal processes, documentation standards, and best practices for the Magnet Technologies group
- Capture lessons learned and feed continuous improvement into future programs
- Support early-stage quoting, technical feasibility assessments, and roadmap development
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand complex mechanical and electro-mechanical systems
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working directly with customers and external partners
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
