Duties
- Assist in preparing concrete forms and setting up rebar installation to ensure structural integrity.
- Operate hand tools and power tools for concrete finishing, including trowels, floats, and screeds.
- Mix and pour concrete using mixers or pumps, following schematics and blueprints accurately.
- Finish concrete surfaces by smoothing, leveling, and applying caulking or sealing materials as needed.
- Support heavy lifting tasks and operate heavy equipment safely on construction sites.
- Read blueprints and schematics to understand project specifications for concrete placement.
- Perform masonry tasks such as stucco application, tile laying, or restoration work to enhance project quality.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly.
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, welders, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution.
- Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
Experience
- Prior experience working on construction sites with concrete finishing or related masonry work preferred.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, schematics reading, and blueprint interpretation is highly advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with rebar installation, form building, or concrete pumping is a plus.
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation enhances your effectiveness on site.
- Understanding of various construction disciplines such as carpentry (trim carpentry), roofing, or metal stud framing is beneficial.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in diverse weather conditions.
