• perate heavy equipment machinery to excavate, fill, level and distribute material for installation of underground utilities such as sewer, water, storm sewer lines, gas, or electrical conduit. O
• perators must be able to dig for grade and utilize sloping, shoring, and benching techniques. O
• perate the following machines; excavator, front end loader, scraper, motor grader, roller, bulldozer, skid steer, backhoe, and haul truck. D
• ig around all live utilities, both underground and overhead. M
• aintain sub-grade and assist in setup grade. S
• et up center line and hold line while digging. C
• reate level surfaces, grade slopes to specifications, remove material and fill voids using plans or a surveyor as guidance. I
• nspect equipment prior to use to ensure that it is in proper operating condition. P
• erform general labor duties as needed or required. U
• nderstand utility marking and know how to dig around them, along with operating equipment in close quarters of people, underground utility lines. A
• bility to compute and set grades using laser equipment to maintain desired pipe grade. A
• ble to read drawings, plans and blueprints. F
• amiliar with staking and checking grade. M
• ust know the consistency of material and understand compaction techniques. D
• etail-oriented with the ability to process information quickly and accurately.

• ust have the ability to work extended hours as required by the workload. A
• ble to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in all types of terrain A
• ble to meet all physical requirements such as standing, walking, climbing, stooping, bending, and lifting 50 pounds or more. A
• bility to work around loud noises and can tolerate being exposed to odors, gases, dust, etc. M
• ust be able to work in extreme temperatures, in confined spaces, and in excavated areas.
