What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Project Manager position at Garney Construction?
- Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
- Coordinate and track submittals, RFIs, change orders, and procurement activities
- Support jobsite operations and assist in managing subcontractor performance and compliance
- Attend project meetings and document action items, key decisions, and next steps
- Assist in the preparation and review of project reports, forecasts, and billing documentation
- Communicate with internal teams, clients, vendors, and project partners to ensure project alignment
- Conduct site visits to support field teams, verify progress, and ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain organized project records and assist with contract compliance requirements
- Monitor project risks and support safety and environmental compliance initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
- 1-3 years of project coordination, construction, or field experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with project scheduling software
- Working knowledge of construction documents, project processes, and industry best practices
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced construction environment
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
- Desire to grow into a leadership role within project management
- Salary Range: $120K - $145K
