Customer Service Manager

 

This position will be on-site at our headquarters on the University of Nebraska’s Innovation Campus in Lincoln, Nebraska. We need a person who understands how to positively motivate others and wants to lead a team of people striving for excellence. Someone who leaves no stone unturned when working to meet the needs of our customers. A person who takes pride in doing tasks right the first time and is picky about the details. WHAT WE WILL ASK YOU TO DO:

  • Manage customer service staff in our local office and in remote locations.
  • Process daily orders, issue job numbers and enter the job number into inventory quickly and efficiently. 
  • Document customer notes in computer system.  
  • Assist with incoming calls, determining the need of the caller and routing the call to the right person.
  • Provide all departments with details pertinent to a customer’s order.  
  • Train Customer Service staff to allow for department efficiency.
  • Investigate and resolve customers’ inquiries concerning merchandise, service, billing and shipping 
  • Assist finance with collections from the customers
  • Identify changes in customer service operations to make the company more efficient in serving customer needs.
  • Interact with Sales personnel regarding recommendations for merchandise exchanges, refunds to credit accounts.
  • Prepare and enter all customer credit information.  Informs customers of shipping dates and delays.
  • Prepare contracts and handle customer complaints
  • Compile data, compute charges and prepare invoices for billing purposes. 

 

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TABLE:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the education, knowledge, skill, and/or ability:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with emphasis in management or business administration or equivalent work experience such as 3-5 years working in customer service.
  • Previous managerial / supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Experience with international logistics is preferred.
  • Exceptional relationship talent. Must have the ability to motivate staff and interact with customers driving positive results.
  • High level of empathy that drives you to see situations through the eyes of the customer.
  • Requires strong detail orientation.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English a plus but not required.
  • Strong organizational, communication, personal computer, and ERP related software skills.
  • Exceptional phone etiquette with customers.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and maintain excellent rapport with both internal and external customers.
  • The ability to efficiently plan and prioritize work.
  • Ability to operate all office machines and equipment including switchboard system

 

DEMANDS OF THIS POSITION:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Frequent keyboarding.
  • Prolonged periods of looking at a computer screen.
  • Climate controlled, office environment.
  • Frequent conversations on the phone.

Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
