We are seeking a full-time Legal Intern (1L) in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting Garmin's collegial and fast-paced Legal Department with various legal issues impacting Garmin's global business.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
- Provide legal support to Garmin’s in-house attorneys
- Perform legal research
- Assist attorneys in review of basic contracts and agreements
- Draft documents for attorney review
Basic Qualifications
- Scheduled to complete the first full year of law school prior to summer (will consider 1L’s only)
- Proficiency using Westlaw and Microsoft Office products
- Demonstrated ability to leverage generative AI tools effectively and responsibly
- Demonstrated proficient research skills
- Demonstrated proficient knowledge of contract documents and concepts
- Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
- Excellent time management and follow-up skills
Desired Qualifications
- An undergraduate degree in Engineering or an interest in high-tech products
- Previous work experience in a corporate environment
