About Us
Garment Valet is not your typical laundry company. We’ve been serving Boston residents, high-rise buildings, and commercial clients for decades. The company was voted the Best of Boston by Boston Magazine in 2025. In Fall 2025, we launched the semester of a student-powered growth team made up of multiple interns working together to expand our reach. This internship is designed for students who want real-world experience in graphic design, digital content creation, branding, and social media strategy, all while contributing to the refresh of a familiar Boston name. The student will be exposed to the majority of procedures, positions, and departments inside of Husky Express Corporation DBA Garment Valet. It is expected that the student will perform the necessary duties, both in the office and in the field. Duties would include but not limited to: Sales, Marketing, and Operations. This position requires completion of a formal onboarding, followed by exposure to administrative tasks, research, and fieldwork to gain knowledge and experience. This position is geared toward those focused on small business ownership, efficiency initiatives, Biz Dev, and most behind the scene facets of maintaining/growing a business.
What You'll Do
As part of our intern cohort, you’ll work directly with our company owner (Northeastern alum) and be exposed to nearly every department in a functioning small business. You will mentored throughout the cohort; you will also work as a team with the other interns to achieve your goal of increased revenue and engagement. Your work may include:
Social Media & Digital Marketing
- Manage Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Linkedin, and Threads
- Design eye-catching graphics, animations, reels, and short-form videos
- Use AI tools (Canva AI, ChatGPT/Claude, image/video generation) to accelerate content creation and experimentation.
- Create on-brand templates, layouts, and visual assets for consistent storytelling
- Capture content on-site at our office, retail storefronts, and local events
- Experiment with new formats, trends, and creative hooks
- Produce digital and print marketing materials targeting Boston residents and university communities
- Assist in event promotion and store improvements
Branding & Creative Design
- Refresh and modernize visual elements across platforms
- Design signage, flyers, posters, pop-up materials, and retail visuals
- Contribute to retail store aesthetic improvements (window displays, interior visuals)
- Help shape Garment Valet’s evolving brand tone, personality, and visual identity
Marketing Strategy & Campaign Development
- Brainstorm and pitch new ideas with the team for services, campaigns, and customer engagement
- Help plan pop-up events, in-office activities, and networking mixers
- Write simple, fun, and engaging captions (humor encouraged!)

Who We're Looking For
- Boston-based students (BU, Northeastern, Emmanuel, Suffolks, etc) — Our office is located on Beacon Street, near Fenway & Landsdowne T stations.
- Must commit to at least 20 hours/week; scheduling is flexible with notice for conflicts
- Experience with Canva, Adobe, and similar design platforms sales
- Must be comfortable creating short-form video content (TikTok/IG Reels)
- Comfort with or interest in AI-assisted content tools
- Creative, organized self-starters with strong follow-through
- Outgoing, social, and motivated to meet new people
