CNC Laser/Brake press Operator

CNC Laser / Brake Press Operator.
This is somewhat of a dual operation position. This position operates a CNC controlled laser cutting
machine as well operate a brake press during or while the laser is performing or in operation.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
 This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other
duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
 Follow work instructions and work schedule from supervison
 Operate equipment in a 100% safe manner following appropriate regulations, policies and
procedures
 Verify correct quantity and quality of parts lasered and formed.
 Performs 1 st piece / last piece and random dimensional inspections with the aid of the shop job
order packet or print.
 Set-up, adjust and operate a CNC control laser and Brake Press to cut and form parts to print
specifications including loading and unloading of sheet steel.
 Move raw material & parts using a lift truck as needed.
 Touch-up and modify laser programs.
 Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance required to keep the equipment in good
working order.
 Perform laser and press operations requiring close tolerances.
 Determine nest sequences for optimal utilization of the laser.
 Report labor hours by entering all applicable information in computer.
 Maintain clean and safe work area
Required Skills and Qualifications

 Education and/Or Experience
 1-2 year’s experience with laser operation, programming experience a plus
 High school diploma or equivalent
 Knowledge of CNC programming and controls.
 Reliable attendance is critical
 Able to work in a team environment
 Able to read blueprints
 Attention to detail
 Read 1/8”, 1/16”, and 1/32” gradations on tape measure
 Convert feet to inches and vice versa
 Convert Fractions to Decimals
