Qualifications:
- Michigan Elementary Teaching Certificate
- Experience teaching at the elementary/kindergarten level - preferred
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills
- Knowledge of child development and elementary curriculum
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with state standards and district curriculum
- Teach foundational skills in early literacy, numeracy, social studies, science, and social-emotional learning
- Use play-based, hands-on, and experiential learning strategies to support student engagement
- Establish consistent routines and expectations that promote positive behavior and independence
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, including English learners and students with disabilities
- Monitor and assess student progress using observation, formative assessments, and screening tools
- Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and progress reports
- Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
- Integrate technology and instructional materials appropriate for early learners
- Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administrators to support student growth
- Participate in the development and implementation of IEPs, 504 Plans, and early intervention plans
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations
- Supervise students during instructional and non-instructional times
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school events
- Uphold district policies, procedures, and professional ethics
