Reports to: Principal
Qualifications:
- Michigan Elementary Teaching Certificate
- Experience teaching at the elementary level - preferred
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills
- Knowledge of child development and elementary curriculum
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver instruction in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies aligned with state standards and district curriculum
- Use developmentally appropriate instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners
- Differentiate instruction for students with varying abilities, including English learners and students with disabilities
- Assess student learning using formative and summative assessments and use data to guide instruction
- Maintain accurate student records, including grades, attendance, and progress monitoring data
- Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and respectful classroom environment
- Implement classroom management strategies consistent with school and district expectations
- Integrate technology and instructional materials to enhance student engagement and learning
- Collaborate with colleagues in grade-level teams and professional learning communities
- Participate in the development and implementation of IEPs, 504 Plans, and other student support plans
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations
- Provide academic intervention and enrichment as needed
- Supervise students during instructional and non-instructional times as assigned
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school events
- Uphold district policies, school procedures, and professional ethics
