Accounting Manager

Position Purpose & Summary

The accounting manager has prior hotel accounting and hospitality experience and can manage multiple accounting functions and collaborate closely with the Director of Finance to achieve the department's goals. This individual must have strong diligence, excellent problem-solving skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills.

Essential Functions

• Deliver "I Am Proud" service standards and department-specific signature touch points.
• Establish cross-departmental communication channels among teammates that are consistent and complete.
• Assist in the completion of monthly bank and credit card reconciliations in M3.
• Reconcile balance sheets monthly using various systems (M3, Opera, Jonas, Book4Time, and Excel).
• Assist with the month-end close and journal entries.
• Audit inventory counts and cost of sales.
• Process bi-weekly payroll through ADP, which involves reviewing, auditing, and importing all supplemental pay, including commissions, service charges, tips, etc.
• Manage and reconcile all payroll deductions, including medical, dental, and vision.
• Review, audit, complete, and upload daily income journals in M3.
• Assist in creating policies and procedures.
• Assist in managing the property purchase order process through Reeco.
• Produce monthly owner revenue statements for Casita owners and be their point of contact for questions on statements.
• Assists with guest inquiries as needed.
• Additional duties as required by the Director of Finance.

Position Requirements

1. Minimum Knowledge & Skills: Knowledge of computerized accounting systems preferred. PC knowledge and experience with Windows, Microsoft Excel, and Word. Experience with Jonas and Opera Club beneficial. Knowledge of accounting process and procedurecs. Ability to communicate with excellent verbal and written skills. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

1. Communications:
• Daily – Emails/phone calls with various team members in all areas and sales clients
• Weekly – Email to sales team regarding group billing statuses
• Occasionally – Participate in one-on-one coaching sessions.

1. Teamwork and Collaboration: This position requires continuous teamwork as well as internal and cross-departmental communication.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

Environmental factors may include indoor settings with overhead lighting and comfortable ventilation. May occasionally be called upon to work in all areas of the property, both inside and outside, possibly in inclement weather.
