Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, pruning, planting, and fertilizing to keep outdoor areas vibrant and healthy
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, power tools, irrigation systems, and snow plowing machinery safely and efficiently
- Install and repair hardscape features like pathways, patios, retaining walls, and garden beds to enhance landscape design
- Identify plants, pests, and diseases to ensure proper plant health management; apply pesticides responsibly following safety protocols
- Maintain irrigation systems by installing, repairing, and adjusting sprinklers or drip systems to optimize water usage
- Conduct routine grounds inspections to identify issues requiring attention and perform necessary repairs or adjustments
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all outdoor activities to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of landscaping equipment and power tools for efficient operation and troubleshooting
- Extensive experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, lawn care, and groundskeeping practices
- Ability to identify various plants, trees, pests, and diseases relevant to horticulture
- Knowledge of pesticide management procedures in compliance with safety standards
- Skilled in operating irrigation systems and understanding their components for effective water management
- Experience with hardscape installation including pathways, patios, walls, and other outdoor structures
- Excellent outdoor work experience with a focus on safety protocol adherence and environmental awareness
