Dental Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position involves assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. A strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, along with experience in pediatric dentistry, is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during examinations and treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary materials are available
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols
• Maintain accurate patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
• Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed, including medical documentation and coding
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols
• Monitor vital signs and assist in medical imaging when required
• Support pediatric patients with a gentle approach to create a comfortable experience

Experience

• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred
• Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and aseptic techniques is essential
• Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Epic or Dentrix is advantageous
• Experience in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, or pediatrics will be considered a plus
• Knowledge of medical records management and medical coding is beneficial
