Job Summary

A large, well-established real estate development and property management company is seeking a reliable and hardworking Maintenance Technician/Porter for a residential apartment community in Billerica, MA.

This position combines general property maintenance with porter and groundskeeping responsibilities. The Maintenance Technician/Porter will assist with routine repairs, apartment turnovers, property upkeep, and maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the community.

The ideal candidate is dependable, professional, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while supporting the property management and maintenance teams. Pay is negotiable based on the candidate’s maintenance experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Complete basic maintenance repairs involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building upkeep
• Respond to assigned maintenance requests and report larger repair needs to the supervisor
• Assist with apartment turnovers, including repairs, painting, cleaning, and preparing units for new residents
• Maintain the cleanliness of lobbies, hallways, stairwells, elevators, laundry rooms, offices, and common areas
• Remove trash and debris from designated areas
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and perform general cleaning duties
• Maintain sidewalks, entrances, exterior areas, and property grounds
• Inspect the property and report maintenance, safety, or security concerns
• Assist with preventive maintenance and routine property inspections
• Participate in snow removal and weather-related cleanup
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition
• Provide courteous and professional service to residents, vendors, and staff
• Complete additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

• Prior apartment maintenance, building maintenance, porter, janitorial, or related experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs
• Residential apartment community experience is a plus
• Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Strong attention to detail and ability to complete assigned tasks
• Professional and respectful communication skills
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
• Ability to perform the physical duties required for maintenance, cleaning, and groundskeeping work
• Weekend or on-call availability may be required
