The Service Technician Apprentice is an entry-level position that works alongside an assigned Mentor Lead Technician and/or Service Manager to learn to perform quality vehicle service Express Lube maintenance and repairs.
Salary: $600 - $800 per week
Essential Functions:
- Assists assigned technicians as needed.
- Delivers customer cars to service stalls as requested by technicians.
- Picks up parts from the parts department as directed by technicians.
- Performs safety inspections, oil changes, lubrication work, basic maintenance and minor repairs as directed.
- Replenishes supplies as requested by mentor technician and/or service manager.
- Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
- Attends manufacturer instructor training classes
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions to stay informed with rapidly changing technology.
- Assists in the Lot and other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background screening.
- Regular attendance and punctual
- Wears a proper Garavel uniform
- Ability to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to frequently move in and out of vehicles frequently
- Required to test drive all vehicles
- All-weather toughness - exposure to inclement weather
- Are often exposed to hazardous situations, conditions, and equipment that result in cuts, bruises, or minor burns.
- Work inside enclosed vehicles, such as trucks, cars, and SUV’s. Often work in cramped workspaces underneath vehicles that require getting into awkward positions.
- Regularly wear protective gear, such as goggles or earplugs.
- Are exposed to contaminants, such as antifreeze and chemical degreasers, on a daily basis.
- Are exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting and uncomfortable on a daily basis.
- May sometimes work in cold or hot temperatures
