Duties And Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert in performance nutrition and provide individualized and group-based dietary guidance tailored to aircrew performance and resilience.
- Develop and deliver performance nutrition content for Human Performance (HP) syllabi and related courseware; participate in interdisciplinary meetings to ensure curriculum relevance and integration. Assist with curriculum development or re-design based on expert assessment of community served as requested.
- In partnership with HP staff, assess dietary habits and nutritional environments using validated tools and research to inform program delivery and adjustments.
- Maintain presence in operational settings by spending at least 20% of duty hours in flying squadrons, flight rooms, or aircrew spaces to foster rapport and engagement.
- Conduct educational briefings, seminars, and wellness consultations; deliver instruction using approved teaching methods and materials; give and receive continuous instructional feedback.
- When appropriate, conduct clinical-level nutritional assessments, review patient records, and document findings in the MTF’s electronic health record system within 72 hours of consultation.
- Enter clinical and non-clinical encounters and instructional sessions into the CRAFT system of record within 72 hours; ensure documentation quality aligns with DoD guidance and program tracking needs.
- Coordinate and communicate program goals, updates, and feedback with local leadership and stakeholders; support social marketing efforts to promote program initiatives.
- Provide input to the Curriculum Coordinator, DL, Data team, and Site Lead on nutrition-related updates and improvements; assist in planning and presenting during the annual Aircrew Human Performance Summit and distinguished visitor tours as requested.
- Participate in quarterly domain-specific sync calls and collaborate across sites to support virtual and in-person efforts at CRAFT or aircrew flying training locations without assigned Dietitians.
- Stay current with industry best practices and research in performance dietetics; evaluate and recommend emerging practices or technologies to enhance nutrition programming.
- Maintain all required professional credentials and licensure; sustain Medical Group credentialing and privileging.
- Complete all required CRAFT compliance training and documentation, including CRAFT Program Familiarization, HPO Inappropriate Relationships and Harassment Training and Acknowledgment, DOD/DISA Information Systems Policy, social media Policy, and PII Training. Maintain records of training completion and credentialing for Government review upon request.
- Perform weekly cleaning and sanitization of all nutrition-related workspaces and equipment in accordance with infection control standards as outlined by the Government medical representative.
- Complete the CRAFT Dietetics Qualification Course upon onboarding; implement program guidance and instructional techniques specific to the performance nutrition domain. After completion of the qualification course, assist in planning and presenting at this course as requested.
- During PASO visits, ensure readiness of equipment and materials, conduct observed instructional sessions as normal, accept direct feedback from PASO, and implement recommendations in future activities.
- Attend CRAFT Program Office all-calls and sync meetings; maintain open communication with other sites and stakeholders to ensure consistency and program cohesion.
- May travel to provide direct support to other CRAFT sites, assist with aircrew TDYs, or contribute to CRAFT program expansion and continuity.
Salary : $52,500 - $57,500
