Job Summary
The Automation Engineer will support GMP-regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing operations, with a focus on sterile fill-finish and production systems. This role is responsible for designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Siemens-based automation systems while ensuring compliance with FDA and global regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and support PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems (Siemens platform) in a GMP environment
- Support equipment qualification and validation activities (URS, IQ, OQ, PQ)
- Troubleshoot automation issues to minimize downtime and maintain product quality
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure audit readiness
- Maintain automation documentation, SOPs, change controls, and system lifecycle records
- Ensure data integrity and cybersecurity compliance
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience as an Automation Engineer in a GMP pharma/biotech facility
- 3 years of hands-on Siemens PLC/HMI/SCADA experience
- Experience supporting regulated manufacturing systems and validation activities
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
