Inventory & ESS Yard Operations Specialist
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $23.00 – $26.00 per hour (Based on experience)
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Inventory & ESS Yard Operations Specialist to join our growing team supporting Energy Storage System (ESS) projects. This position is responsible for inventory control, warehouse and yard operations, material coordination, and quality control support. The ideal candidate will help ensure the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of materials while supporting daily project operations.
Training will be provided on ESS yard operations, quality control procedures, and project workflows for the right candidate.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Perform cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and material tracking.
- Receive, inspect, organize, stage, and ship ESS containers, structural materials, and project equipment.
- Support daily ESS yard operations, including material movement and equipment coordination.
- Assist with Quality Control (QC) inspections and maintain basic inspection records.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for quantity, condition, and documentation accuracy.
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel, project managers, logistics providers, and subcontractors to support daily operations.
- Prepare daily inventory, yard activity, and operational reports.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and yard environment.
- Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures at all times.
- Assist with additional warehouse and field operations as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate College diploma or GED required.
- 1–2 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, logistics, manufacturing, or construction is preferred.
- Experience using WMS, ERP systems, or inventory management software is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Forklift experience or certification is preferred but not required.
- Experience in ESS, industrial construction, or heavy equipment operations is a plus; training will be provided.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely work around forklifts, reach stackers, cranes, and other heavy equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical work throughout the shift.
