A highly regarded national law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group in its Chicago or Nashville office.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney looking to work on sophisticated intellectual property and technology transactions while partnering with a nationally recognized team that advises clients across a broad range of industries on complex domestic and international matters involving technology, intellectual property, and commercial transactions.
About the Practice
The Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Practice Group provides practical, business-focused legal solutions to clients at every stage of the business cycle involving intellectual property rights and technology assets.
Core areas of work include:
βοΈ Intellectual property licensing agreements
βοΈ Technology transactions
βοΈ IP due diligence
βοΈ Outsourcing and managed services agreements
βοΈ Supply and distribution agreements
βοΈ Mergers, acquisitions, and strategic transactions involving IP assets
βοΈ Financings and restructurings involving technology and intellectual property
Key Responsibilities
β Counsel clients on intellectual property and technology transactions
β Draft, review, and negotiate licensing agreements and commercial contracts
β Conduct IP due diligence in transactional matters
β Advise on outsourcing and managed services arrangements
β Support supply and distribution agreement negotiations
β Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice groups on complex transactions
β Provide practical legal guidance on technology and intellectual property matters
β Assist clients with domestic and international business transactions involving IP assets
Qualifications
β’ J.D. from an accredited law school
β’ Active law license in a U.S. jurisdiction in good standing
β’ 1β5 years of experience in intellectual property and technology transactions
β’ Experience with licensing agreements required
β’ Experience with IP due diligence required
β’ Experience with outsourcing and managed services agreements preferred
β’ Experience with supply and distribution agreements preferred
β’ Excellent analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
β’ Strong academic credentials required
β’ Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, client-focused environment
