💰 Salary Range: $225,000 – $435,000 annually (Chicago office salary range)

A highly regarded national law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group in its Chicago or Nashville office.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney looking to work on sophisticated intellectual property and technology transactions while partnering with a nationally recognized team that advises clients across a broad range of industries on complex domestic and international matters involving technology, intellectual property, and commercial transactions.

About the Practice

The Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Practice Group provides practical, business-focused legal solutions to clients at every stage of the business cycle involving intellectual property rights and technology assets.

Core areas of work include:

⚖️ Intellectual property licensing agreements

⚖️ Technology transactions

⚖️ IP due diligence

⚖️ Outsourcing and managed services agreements

⚖️ Supply and distribution agreements

⚖️ Mergers, acquisitions, and strategic transactions involving IP assets

⚖️ Financings and restructurings involving technology and intellectual property

Key Responsibilities

✅ Counsel clients on intellectual property and technology transactions

✅ Draft, review, and negotiate licensing agreements and commercial contracts

✅ Conduct IP due diligence in transactional matters

✅ Advise on outsourcing and managed services arrangements

✅ Support supply and distribution agreement negotiations

✅ Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice groups on complex transactions

✅ Provide practical legal guidance on technology and intellectual property matters

✅ Assist clients with domestic and international business transactions involving IP assets

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school

• Active law license in a U.S. jurisdiction in good standing

• 1–5 years of experience in intellectual property and technology transactions

• Experience with licensing agreements required

• Experience with IP due diligence required

• Experience with outsourcing and managed services agreements preferred

• Experience with supply and distribution agreements preferred

• Excellent analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

• Strong academic credentials required

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, client-focused environment

Compensation & Benefits

💰 $225,000 – $435,000 annually (for Chicago office; compensation based on experience)
