About The Role
The Software Engineering Manager is responsible for the design, development, and quality of game software developed within the studio. This role provides technical leadership while remaining hands-on, ensuring that software systems are robust, maintainable, and aligned with product strategy and gameplay requirements. As a key engineering leader, the Software Engineering Manager helps define development standards, build a high-performing engineering team, and deliver reliable, production-ready game software.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of Software Engineers responsible for the development of gaming products.
- Contribute directly to development by writing highquality C code and creating casino games using the studio’s proprietary game engine.
- Partner with Game Designers and crossfunctional stakeholders to ensure that the software aligns with the product strategy and supports the context of gameplay & game functionality.
- Define, implement, and supervise best practices for software design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Plan, prioritize, and ensure the timely and reliable delivery of all software assets within schedule and budget expectations.
- Guide technical decisionmaking to ensure systems are scalable, maintainable, and performant.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence within the engineering team.
- Game software is stable, performant, and consistently meets quality standards.
- Engineering practices are welldefined, documented, and followed across the team.
- Engineers are supported, challenged, and growing in both technical skill and professional capability.
- Software development is predictable, transparent, and wellaligned with design and production timelines.
- Crossfunctional teams experience strong collaboration and trust in engineering execution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 10 years of experience in software development or related field, with gaming industry experience required.
- Expertlevel proficiency in C with a strong background in designing, coding, testing, and debugging complex systems.
- Experience developing software in Linuxbased environments,
- Experience in proactively developing a team of software engineers, including mentoring, suggesting educational opportunities, and generally advocating professional development.
- Comfortable operating in environments where change, iteration, and learning from failure are essential to building great products.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, development workflows, and quality assurance practices.
- Experience working with proprietary or custom game engines.
- Previous experience helping establish or scale engineering teams, pipelines, or development standards.
- Familiarity with performance optimization for realtime or embedded game systems.
- Experience collaborating across global or distributed teams.
