Title: Harness Design Engineer
Location: Costa Mesa, California, onsite
*Must be eligible to obtain and hold a U.S Secret Clearance
Tech/Domain Environment:
- CAN, Ethernet, RS422, RS232, 1553
- MIL-STD requirements
- NX, Siemens Capital, CATIA, CREO
Job Duties:
- Design, fabricate, and integrate harness systems
- Investigate and develop harnesses to meet technical requirements
- Research and procure connectors, back-shells, and cables
- Generate harness system block diagrams and wire diagrams
- Participate in design reviews to identify issues and drive design choices
- Prepare harness assembly instructions and test procedures
- Guide the electrical team on system requirements from stakeholders
- Manage multiple projects at various stages
Must Haves:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
- 7 years designing electrical harnessing for rugged applications
- Experience with harness manufacturers for high reliability products
- Familiarity with electrical bus interfaces (CAN, Ethernet, RS422, RS232, 1553)
- Knowledge of applicable harness standards and MIL-STD requirements
- Experience reading wire block interconnect diagrams and wire diagrams
- Must be eligible to receive a US Security Clearance
Nice to Haves:
- Experience building 3D routed harness data files with NX Cabling and Siemens Capital Harness
- Proficient in 3D CAD wire harness routing (NX, Siemens Capital, CATIA, CREO)
- Ability to read and generate formboard drawings in 2D CAD for production
