Aerodynamics Engineer
Location: Costa Mesa, CA
*Must be a U.S. citizen and/or eligible to obtain a secret clearance
Tech/Domain Environment:
- MATLAB, Python
- Windows/Linux
- CFD, wind tunnel testing
- Star-CCM , version control systems
Job Duties:
- Design aerodynamic systems for unmanned air vehicles and missiles.
- Conduct aerodynamic analysis using low and high-order methods.
- Develop and improve aerodynamic analysis tools.
- Perform stability and control analysis.
- Model and simulate aircraft performance.
- Generate aerodynamic loads for design validation.
- Plan and execute wind tunnel tests.
- Plan and analyze flight tests.
Must Haves:
- BS in Aerospace Engineering in production.
- 7 years as an individual contributing engineer in aerospace.
- Experience with aerodynamic analysis techniques (CFD, vortex methods) in production.
- Wind tunnel and flight test experience with data acquisition and analysis.
- Strong programming skills in MATLAB or Python in a version-controlled environment.
- Experience preparing formal documentation (specifications, test procedures) in production.
