Job Description
GALT Aerospace is rapidly expanding and is looking for a full-time salaried seasoned Defense Sales professional to be our Defense Sales Portfolio Manager. This position requires previous relevant experience within the DoD Communities. Expertise in Military Aviation, Communications, Datalinks and Command and Control are critical to rapidly integrate into the GALT Growth team. In this role, you will focus on Enterprise Strategy, capture opportunities that meet GALT's strategic plan requirements with a particular focus on customer engagements across the Department of Defense. In addition to assisting in the development of the strategic plan, you will also discover and coordinate short- and long-term capture initiatives with the Business Development and Capture Manager and Chief Strategy Officer. You will use your previous expertise to address critical customer needs, while growing the business and building on the history and success of GALT Aerospace. You will be expected to be directly involved in all phases of Business Development from shaping, to capturing, to proposal writing.
- Develop an overall customer-focused strategic plan focused on both short and long-term Airborne Gateway and Communication, Command and Control growth opportunities
- Develop, maintain and mature government customer base across the Joint Force
- Accountable to shape and win new business through a balanced focus on customer value, the competitive environment and the corporation's best interests

Required Skills, Experience, and Education
- Bachelor's degree in business, business administration or any other relevant area
- 10 years' experience with DoD Customer – either as a Veteran and/or Defense contractor
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability to rapidly obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) personnel security clearance at the Secret Level is required
- Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial, and creative environment
- Strong oral and written communications skills coupled with strong critical and analytical thinking
- Ability to take initiative, multi-task and work well under pressure as part of a team and individually as required
- Technically minded leader who can build, adapt, and implement new and innovative approaches to defense Joint C2 market
Preferred Skills, Experience and Education
- Top Secret/SCI Eligible Clearance
- 5 years' experience in Business Development
- Master's Degree
- Ability to leverage your personal, extensive, DoD rolodex of influencers and decision makers
- Experience in military operations and communication networks, datalinks, command and control, military aviation
- Success with development and growth of new defense business pipelines
- Intimate understanding of government contracting, fielding, requirements generation, and budgeting for the purposes of transitioning prototype capabilities to production as well as knowledge in defense acquisitions desired
- Demonstrated experience communicating/briefing executives, managers, employees, and customers to maintain a sustainable working relationship
- Experience in Business Development to include opportunity identification, developing business cases, and capture management
- Demonstrated ability to serve in the role of a subject matter expert with presentation experience
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit or stand for 6 hours at a time
- Must be able and willing to travel across the country for up to 40% of work time
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
Pay Scale
At GALT Aerospace, base pay is one part of the total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as one grows and develops within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $90,000-150,000, and a specific candidate's base pay will depend on their skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Salary : $90,000 - $150,000
