JOB TITLE: Food Service Worker I
DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision of the Food Service Manager, the Food Service Worker I performs daily food service activities to include; assisting with the preparation of school lunches, serving meals to students and site staff, performing routine cleaning and other related work as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (may include but not limited to):
1. Assist in the preparation of school breakfast and lunch by cooking (i.e. assembling, heating and packaging) and serving food.
2. Receive, store and inventory supplies according to department procedures.
3. Set up serving lines including condiments, straws, milk, etc.
4. Serve food and drinks at serving lines in an efficient and proper manner.
5. Count and record monies and meals served.
6. Clean and wash dishes, utensils, equipment, work areas and tables.
7. Perform other related duties as requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training, and Experience:
1. Equivalent to the completion of twelfth grade.
Knowledge of:
1. Safety principals applicable to food service and kitchen equipment.
2. Sanitation principles applicable to food service and kitchen maintenance.
3. Methods and practice of basic food service.
Skill and Ability to:
1. Understand and carry out oral and written instruction.
2. Work cooperatively with those contacted in the course of work.
3. Correctly demonstrate sufficient strength, mobility, and range of motion to lift 30 pounds.
4. Perform basic mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy.
JOB PROFILE:
Daily hours range from 3 to 8 per day, 5 days per week, 10 months per year.
SALARY:
Salary range is 6. Fringe benefits are offered with four (4) or more hours worked per day
